Meet transcriber, Amelia!

Meet Amelia, one of the friendly faces behind our Easy Read team and part of our marketing crew. Since joining A2i back in 2022, she’s made her mark by shaping a role that plays to her strengths – from producing Easy Read content to leading our Easy Read User Group and working closely with people with learning disabilities. Outside of work, she brings just as much creativity to her life, whether she’s writing or exploring the world of food. Get to know her a little better below…

When did you join A2i?
I joined A2i in 2022!

What’s your role?
I’m an Easy Read transcriber and part of the marketing team.

What do you like most about working at A2i?
I really enjoy the freedom I’ve had to carve out a role that’s tailored to my interests. If you enjoy a particular task, you are actively encouraged to do more of it! For instance, I lead our Easy Read User Group and the work we do alongside people with learning disabilities, and that’s something I’ve always wanted to take on.

How would you describe the team vibe in three words?
Collaborative, easy going and hardworking.

What’s your go-to way to start your day?
I have a bagel almost every day while I do my emails…So a lot of bagels in 3 years.

What are your interests outside of work?
I love to write and I love food, eating and cooking, so in my free time I’m a food editor for a Bristol based magazine!

What’s a random fact about you that you think would surprise people?
I’ve been vegan 10 years, and I have a twin brother
