Easy Read Transcriber
We are looking for someone to join our team mainly working with Easy Read. Applicants should have some experience of creating Easy Read or communicating with people with learning disabilities. Full training will be given in our own style and methods of production. Training in our other formats will also be available to develop a range of transcription skills.
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, core office hours (this is an office position, not work-from-home)
Salary: £23,400+ pa (depending on experience)
Start date: asap

Easy Read Transcriber - Job Description
Tasks
- Easy Read transcription – including writing, design and supporting images
- Assistance with user groups
- Customer liaison
- Transcription to other formats such as Braille and Audio
Essential Requirements
- Good computing skills to include all Office programs
- Ability to extract and interpret non-text information such as graphics, layout and style
- experience of creating Easy Read or communicating with people with learning disabilities
- Proven ability to learn computer skills/programs efficiently
- Good organisational skills and able to manage own workload
- Able to multitask and work efficiently
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confident dealing with customers & bespoke requests
- Clear voice for audio recording
- Commitment to honesty and reliability
- Ability to fit in with existing team values of respect, fairness and equality
Preferred but not essential:
- Experience of creating a range of Easy Read documents in a variety of output formats
