About Lloyds Bank Foundation

Their challenge

Lloyds Bank Foundation wanted to provide key information about its funding programmes in accessible formats. This enables people with different needs, including the Deaf and Disabled people, to have equal access to the funding and support it offers.

The information the Foundation provides to applicants ranges from application forms and guidance to fill in the forms, guidance about the funding programmes they run, as well as frequently asked questions. Some of these are aimed at Deaf and Disabled charity staff who are involved in the leadership of Deaf and Disabled people’s organisations. The Foundation’s tone of voice in their communications is friendly, caring and welcoming.

To ensure that their communications are accessible and inclusive, Lloyds Bank Foundation reached out to A2i and requested that grant information and guidance be adapted for the following formats:

Our solution

A2i created a series of engaging, accessible documents for Lloyds Bank Foundation’s audience, including people who are visually impaired, Deaf or Disabled. We recommended that all online documents should be accessible, including Large Print online forms which we transcribed into e-text (which is an online accessible format). We also made the e-text forms editable which means applicants can easily fill them in online, instead of having to print and post them.

Beside accessibility features, our key priority was to ensure we reflected the Foundation’s tone of voice and style as well as applying consistency throughout the whole set of documents. We also made sure we could accommodate the client’s tight deadlines and included additional amends within their timings.
